Internet channel goes live... Today!

The internet channel what live today for the wii, at least in trail version only. It certainly does the job that it just fulls short of surfing on a computer. The resolution seems to change when you enter the channel, a thick black border appears around the screen, at least on our CRT TV. This may not be a problem with LCD or plasma tv's but its looks horrible on the screen, it chews up valvable screen space. Another problem is that you can't save images off the web, or anything at the moment. Nor can any media be played through it, unless it its embedded in flash. I'm not expecting perfection its only a trail version, but its got a fair way to go before its ready to become a regular browser.

Forecast Channel gots live... yesterday

Nintendo went live in their channel yesterday, and what a cool channel it is. Its a cross between Google Earth and a weather channel. Once you've set up the weather for your region it provides a quick today weather, then a tomorrow weather and then a 4 day forecast. But thats not the best part of it, you can go to a globe of the world and zoom in and out finding out the weather of the world. Its really cool, you can't zoom into cities and see all the detail but for a general overview its great. Maybe someone can fish out for G.W Bush Jnr and get him one, its could save so much time in telling him where all his troops are.

Stargate: New series in development

Stargate, possibility known as this generations answer to Star Trek is now developing a continuation of the SG universe with the development/early production of a new series. Anyone in the know about SG would know how the long running SG-1 series has been cancelled with no hope of being revived (must of make it sign those 'please don't revive' forms), its a welcome sign to see that a new series will take its place. Hopely to continue that has been an excellent series, I think better than many of the star trek series (maybe not the voyager or orginal but close) there is plenty of material to really get a good series on its feet and running. Atlantis has going strong and has already a new season in the writing, a third series will let old dogs lie and give some new puppies a go. I'm personally thrilled the it and look forward to its release in 2008, until then look forward to the new SG movies and at current SG:Altantis.

Wii is so much fun

Oh the jokes that can be had with Nintendos new console. Many people got over that six or so months ago when Nintendo announced its new name from Revolution to Wii. But some still giggle in the shadows, seeing if they can drop them into innocent sentences and see whom giggles from it. I'm one of them, but thats not the point of this blog. We've had this fanastic new console for about 2 weeks nearly and I can say that the excit still hasn't excited the house's system yet, each new game brings something new and exciting to show. I've played from Wii Play, Wii Sporst and Tony Hawk. Friend has been playing alot of Red Steel. It doesn't get any better than this, it is the best console of the lot, not in graphics, if thats your case I hear Sony will give you a ps3 for your soul, microsoft just for your money. No Nintendo is here for the gameplay and it wins hands down with it. I believe the next game should be Zelda, but it could be Rayman yet, thats the problem with so many good games at launch, through when march comes its Mario galaxies all round. This any should like a endorsement but its more a passion. Nintendo has regained its console crown, and i salute it for that.
